AI-Powered Supplier Risk

A new Supplier Risk section has been introduced as AI-Powered Supplier Risk dashboard, providing a comprehensive and structured view of supplier performance across multiple risk dimensions.

The Supplier Risk Badge is now presented within the Supplier Risk section in the Purchase Order and Direct Supplier Invoice screens.

The goal is to help users quickly understand:

  • How reliable a supplier is overall
  • Where risks exist (delivery, quantity, or pricing)
  • Whether corrective action or supplier engagement may be required

By default, the dashboard analyses the last 12 months of supplier activity, ensuring insights reflect recent performance while maintaining a meaningful data sample.

Supplier Risk Overview #

At the top of the Supplier Risk section, users will see the overall Supplier Risk Badge, which provides a consolidated AI-driven assessment of supplier reliability based on multiple performance factors.

This badge uses the same intuitive visual indicators:

Badge ColourMeaning
🟢 GreenLow Risk / Strong Performance
🟡 YellowModerate Risk / Some Variability
🔴 RedHigh Risk / Performance Concern
⚪ GreyInsufficient Data

The overall risk rating is derived from the combined analysis of the individual risk metrics described below.

Supplier Risk Metrics #

The dashboard now evaluates four key dimensions of supplier reliability, each presented with its own badge and supporting data.

Lead Time Risk #

Measures how consistently the supplier delivers within expected lead times.

The analysis considers:

  • Planned vs actual delivery dates
  • Lead time variability
  • Frequency of late deliveries
  • Historical performance trends

This metric helps identify suppliers that may impact production schedules or project timelines.

Delivery Risk #

Evaluates whether deliveries arrive as expected in terms of timing and completeness.

Factors include:

  • On-time delivery performance
  • Partial shipments
  • Missed delivery commitments
  • Delivery reliability patterns

This highlights potential operational disruption risk.

Order Accuracy #

Assesses how accurately suppliers fulfil orders compared to what was requested.

The system analyses:

  • Quantity discrepancies
  • Incorrect items delivered
  • Returns or corrections required
  • Fulfilment consistency

This helps identify suppliers that create additional workload or operational friction.

Price Stability #

Measures how consistent supplier pricing remains over time.

The analysis includes:

  • Price fluctuations across orders
  • Frequency of price changes
  • Variance from agreed pricing
  • Historical price trends

This enables early detection of cost volatility or pricing risk.

How the Overall Supplier Risk Is Calculated #

The overall Supplier Risk Badge combines insights from:

  • Lead Time Risk
  • Delivery Risk
  • Order Accuracy
  • Price Stability

Using AI-driven analysis of historical supplier behaviour, the system produces a consolidated risk level that reflects the likelihood of future performance issues.

As more transactional data becomes available, the model continuously improves its accuracy.

Business Value #

The new Supplier Risk section provides a multi-factor, actionable view of supplier performance directly within iX ERP.

Users can:

  • Identify emerging supplier risks earlier
  • Understand the root cause of performance issues
  • Prioritise supplier engagement or corrective actions
  • Improve planning confidence and forecasting accuracy
  • Reduce operational disruptions and unexpected costs
  • Strengthen supplier management and negotiation strategies

By consolidating all supplier risk intelligence into a single section, the system enables faster, more informed procurement decisions without requiring additional reporting or analysis.
