Use Microsoft Copilot with iX ERP in Edge #
This feature allows users to work with iX ERP pages and reports directly in Microsoft Edge using Copilot Chat in Edge. Because iX ERP pages include semantic tags and data labels, Copilot can better understand the content shown on screen and provide more relevant, context-aware answers.
Users can ask Copilot questions about the current iX ERP page or report, chat with the content, request summaries, and get AI-assisted guidance without leaving the page. Microsoft states that Copilot in Edge can use the current webpage, PDF, and other browsing context to answer prompts, and can summarise page content in the Edge sidebar.
Prerequisites #
Before using this feature, make sure:
- You are using Microsoft Edge. Copilot in this scenario is available through the Edge sidebar.
- You are signed in to Edge with the correct Microsoft account or work account. Microsoft says users signed in with a work profile and Entra account can access Copilot Chat in Edge for work use.
- The Copilot button is enabled in Edge. Microsoft’s current documentation places this button in the upper right corner of Edge, not the top left.
- Page access is allowed. In Edge settings, users can control whether Copilot can access page content through the Allow Microsoft to access page content setting.
How to use it #
- Open iX ERP in Microsoft Edge.
- Sign in to Edge with your work profile if required by your organisation.
- Open the iX ERP page or report you want to work with.
- Click the Copilot icon in the upper right corner of Edge to open the Copilot sidebar.
- If prompted, allow Copilot to access the current page content. Microsoft notes that some organisations show a consent prompt, while others manage this centrally through admin settings.
- Ask Copilot questions about the current page or report, such as:
- summarise this page
- explain this report
- what does this section mean
- analyse this page
- highlight key issues or trends in this report
If the Copilot button is missing #
If you do not see Copilot in Edge:
- In Edge, open
edge://settings/appearance/copilotAndSidebar - Make sure the Sidebar is enabled.
- Under Copilot, turn on Show Copilot button on the toolbar.
- Confirm that page-content access is allowed if your organisation permits it.
Microsoft also says Copilot in the Edge sidebar requires a recent version of Microsoft Edge, specifically version 111 or later, and availability can depend on account type, region, and organisation settings.
